Judge now wants to stop Rocky Top, TN merchandise

Developers and merchandisers who were hoping to cash in on Lake City's name change to Rocky Top could now face a new road block.

A judge who initially ruled against an injunction to keep the developers from selling merchandise has changed his mind, and he's now asking to get the case back.

Missing Anderson Co. man found safe

(WBIR) The Anderson County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday that Michael David Miller, who was reported missing on October 10, has been found safe.

Miller was stopped by deputies in Gwinnett County, Georgia, after a run on his license plate identified him as a missing person.

He told officers he was fine and just wanted to "get away" for a while. He was told to contact his family and released.

Anderson Co. building commisioner charged after TBI investigation

(WBIR) Anderson County's Public Works Director/Building Commissioner is facing charges after authorities said he illegally performed several building inspections.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said an investigation found David Lynn Crowley, 62, performed five building inspections without the proper certification.

TBI said state law allows building commissioners a 12 month grace period to get the proper certification; however agents found Crowley performed the inspections in question after that time.

Church moves to new spot 2 years after selling to developers

(WBIR) An Oak Ridge church that voted two years ago to relocate to make way for a multi-million dollar development is moving into its new home.

After nearly six decades at its original location, the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church celebrated the transition with a parade.

Jacksboro man killed in crash on I-75

A crash on Interstate 75 near Rocky Top has claimed the life of a Campbell County man.

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, William Overton was traveling north on I-75 when his truck ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch.

The truck then rolled over onto its side. Overton was killed in the crash.

THP says no other vehicles were involved in this accident.

Oak Ridge Schools considers allowing students to bring devices to class

Tuesday evening, parents in Oak Ridge learned more about technology policies at their kids' schools.

The district has fallen behind technology-wise, while nearby Knox County has a one-to-one policy, meaning each student gets a tablet device.

Oak Ridge Schools are considering a technology policy that would let kids bring and use their electronics at school. The "Bring Your Own Device" policy is the school district's step toward a one-to-one policy.
