Oak Ridge police see decrease in drug crimes
News

ID=3777217Oak Ridge Police say they've seen a drop in drug crimes over the past five years.

Since 2010, those numbers have dropped each year, with 561 cases in 2010 down to 393 cases in 2014. That's a 30 percent decrease.

The department boosted overnight patrol efforts back in 2012 to help crack down on crime and prevent it.

The increased patrols encouraged officers to be more proactive and initiate more responses on their own if they noticed something suspicious.
