Anderson County schools close early due to Obama's visit

Anderson County Schools are closing early because of the president's visit to Clinton on Friday.

Many roads in Anderson County will close for an extended period of time as President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden visit Techmer PM in Clinton to promote manufacturing jobs.

To avoid the road closures, Anderson County Schools will begin to run buses at its elementary schools and the following locations starting at noon: Lake City Middle School, Norris Middle School, and Norwood Middle School beginning at noon. Car rider pick-up will also start at noon at these locations.

Buses will also start running at 1 p.m. for Anderson County high schools and Clinton Middle School. Car rider pick-up will also begin at 1 p.m. at these locations.

Preschool, Head Start, and Early Head Start will dismiss at 11 a.m. Friday. The Afterschool Program will be closed at all locations on Friday.
