(WBIR) The Anderson County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday that Michael David Miller, who was reported missing on October 10, has been found safe.

Miller was stopped by deputies in Gwinnett County, Georgia, after a run on his license plate identified him as a missing person.

He told officers he was fine and just wanted to "get away" for a while. He was told to contact his family and released.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Department is asking the public's help in locating a man who was last seen more than a week ago.

According to authorities, Michael David Miller, 42, was last seen at his parent's Claxton home on Sunday, October 5. Two days later, he exchanged text messages with a friend, but hasn't been in contact with anyone else since.

Miller is 5 foot, 7 inches tall with blonde hair and hazel eyes. Sheriff's department says he should be driving a grey 2010 Hyundai Elantra with Tennessee license plate 059KKF.
