Anderson Co. building commisioner charged after TBI investigation
News

(WBIR) Anderson County's Public Works Director/Building Commissioner is facing charges after authorities said he illegally performed several building inspections.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said an investigation found David Lynn Crowley, 62, performed five building inspections without the proper certification.

TBI said state law allows building commissioners a 12 month grace period to get the proper certification; however agents found Crowley performed the inspections in question after that time.

The Anderson County Grand Jury indicted Crowley Tuesday on five misdemeanor counts of violating the state's building official certification law.

He was booked and released Thursday after posting $1,000 bond.
