Former Oak Ridge officer accused of harassing texts

A former Oak Ridge probationary police officer is accused of sending harassing text messages to a woman.

Travis Adcock, 30, is charged with harassment and civil rights intimidation.

The victim told officers that she started communicating with Adcock through a social networking site called meet me.com.

She says Adcock sent her sexually themed messages, and then asked her to send him a picture.

When she refused, he sent her text messages threatening to "get even" with her.  When she asked what he meant, he told her "I am a cop. I hope you like tickets."

The victim told officers that the messages made her upset, and she cut back on her driving out of fear.

Officers arrested Adcock Wednesday without incident after investigating the victim's claims.

The Oak Ridge Police Department says Adcock worked for the department from March to September 2011.
